We have an exciting and unique opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team with Staffordshire Children’s Advice and Support.

Working as a Domestic Abuse Adult Specialist Worker, working closely with Children’s Social Care and other specialists involved as part of a multi-disciplinary response to the family where a child is at risk or potential risk; ensuring an holistic, joined up, problem solving approach. As a Domestic Abuse Adult Specialist Worker you will work on a daily basis at a designated hub alongside the other professionals, your role will be to focus on domestic abuse that is impacting the family, supporting to reduce risk and increase safety.

About the role:

This role is based within various locations across Staffordshire. The team will work across various locations and in some occasions more than one base including:-

- Stafford - Stafford Borough Council Office (4th Floor)
- South Staffordshire - South Staffs District Council Office
- Tamworth - Marmion House (Tamworth Borough Council Office)
- Cannock – Springvale, Walhouse Street, Cannock
- East Staffordshire - The Grange Centre, Burton
- Newcastle - Castle House, Newcastle
- Moorlands - Biddulph Town Hall
- Lichfield - The Old House, The Old House, Eastern Avenue, Lichfield

These roles are full-time and fixed term until 15/09/2023.

As an ASW link worker you will:

- be part of the Adult Specialist Worker (ASW) service as a Domestic Abuse specialist practitioner within the Families and Children’s Teams across Staffordshire.
- co-locate and work closely with the Social Care team and other specialists involved as part of a multi-disciplinary response to the family where a child is at risk or potential risk; ensuring an holistic, joined up, problem solving approach.
- provide a fully integrated, high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, seeking to achieve joint outcomes for the victim and their children.
- offer the service provided by New Era to perpetrators; and make onward referral to services.

You will need:

- good communication skills and experience of offering support to victims and/or perpetrators of domestic abuse.
