We currently have several opportunities for Social Workers, within our North Essex area.

North Essex covers our offices in Colchester, Clacton and the greater Tendring area. It is a diverse area to work in encompassing rural, costal and urban communities all with their own unique challenges. Essex County Council work closely with their partners in North Essex, those joining teams in this area are uniquely positioned to be increasingly involved in partnership projects across local authorities and the NHS.

In our aim to align more closely with our Health partners, Adult Social Care is moving towards a locality teams supporting a neighbourhood model. Working in this way, teams are aligned to specific post code areas and assess and support all new adults 18+ under the Care Act (2014).

Locality teams will undertake incoming social work and occupational therapy services for all age specialisms including safeguarding referrals, assessments and reviews.

A strengths’ based approach is used to:

- Maintain independence
- Develop resilience and networks to prevent increasing needs
- Reduce the necessity for local authority services
- To enable adults to have better outcomes

Working with our professional partners in the health service, the community and voluntary sectors we ensure that we work with adults using a mixture of face to face and technological solutions to assess their needs. Our aim is to improve outcomes for the adults in our communities enabling them to remain as independent as possible with the right level of support.

With case work focusing on the most complex and challenging adult cases, you’ll ensure that adults and their families are safeguarded. You’ll share ideas and best practice, providing specialist advice as part of a multi-disciplinary team sharing your knowledge as a Social Worker.
