We are looking for someone who works in a strength-based approach, is motivated, flexible and who has high professional standards alongside sound knowledge and experience of current legislation. An applied knowledge of The Care Act and The Mental Capacity Act and experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries is essential alongside experience of working in complex situations using professional judgement and a range of interventions.

Our roles in the Learning Disability and Autism service are based across three teams, with one covering the East of the county, another covering the West of the county, and a specialist team that is countywide. This gives you the opportunity to choose your preferred team that is most in line with your profile and experience. Our offer includes different contract types and working patterns/hours.

Our East Surrey Learning Disability & Autism Team (based in Leatherhead): Come and join our friendly and dynamic team based within Leatherhead covering the East of the county; Tandridge, Mole-Valley, Reigate & Banstead, Epsom & Ewell and Elmbridge. Be part of a team committed to delivering our vision to support adults with learning disabilities and / or autism for a more tailored support service. Our West Surrey Learning Disability & Autism Team (based in Guildford): Come and join our welcoming team based within Guildford covering the West of the county; Guildford, Waverley, Surrey Heath, Woking, Runnymede and Spelthorne. Be part of a team committed to delivering our vision to support adults with learning disabilities and / or autism for a more tailored support service. We are looking for someone who works in a strength-based approach, is motivated, flexible and who has high professional standards alongside sound knowledge and experience of current legislation. Experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries is essential alongside experience of working in complex situations using professional judgement and a range of interventions.

Our Specialist Countywide Learning Disability & Autism Team (based in Woking): Join an exciting specialist practitioner team that operates countywide with an office base in Woking. Promoting independence, choice and control is at the heart of everything we do, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to work with people to maximise their potential for independence.

This will involve working across various unique projects such as providing service users the opportunity to enjoy a home of their own, in an environment where they feel safe, have friends, and are encouraged or supported to live a healthy and meaningful lifestyle. You will be responsible for working on targeted reviews where you will be expected to undertake a number of assessments and reviews per week in line with the national and Surrey CC targets in a strength-based approach ensuring that you are creative in exploring with the service user's community opportunities. You will review day opportunities and short break services with service users and providers to create a more person-centred approach which promotes independence.

For Social Worker roles you will need to have completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and be registered with Social Work England. We recognise there will be exceptions to this so please speak to us if you are in any doubt.

For Senior Social Worker roles, substantial post qualification professional experience as a Social Worker would also be required. Experience of providing professional supervision (can include to unqualified and/or non-professional supervision) would be desirable but not essential.
