We currently have an opportunity for a Level 3 social care professional and would welcome applications from experienced and knowledgeable social workers who are also qualified AMHPs and registered with Social work England.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual with a 'can do' attitude and a passion for people. You must have leadership, and management skills and excellent multi-agency partnership working abilities.

We welcome applications from social workers who are enthusiastic, proactive and innovative, who possesses excellent communication and organisational skills and who have a good working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act to apply for this great opportunity to step up to an operational management role within Adult Social Care for Mental Health.

Dependent on an individual's location and preference we will be in a position to negotiate work-base with them. The Social Care Pathway in South Staffordshire currently has office accommodation in Stafford and Cannock. The successful candidate(s) must be a team player with excellent communication and IT skills.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the Adult Social Work environment including community and hospital settings.

This is a dynamic post that requires the post holder to work closely with uni/multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions, promoting independence and improving the health and wellbeing of the population served.

The service aims to support people to maintain choice and control over the care and support they need to live as independently as possible.

This post will lead and promote excellent Social Work practice including ongoing case work and ensure that all assessments support plans and reviews are carried out to a high standard and are in line with personalisation principles.

Social Work Learning Academy (SWLA)

On appointment, the post holder will be auto-enrolled in the SWLA and aligned to the appropriate British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. The relevant SWLA stage (i.e. stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker) or 3 (Advanced Social Worker) will also be agreed taking all prior Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant experience into consideration. The post holder will be required to take responsibility for their own Continuous Professional Development.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
Essential

Social Work Degree or equivalent
Post Graduate studies in related Social Work Practice
Registration with HCPC
Modules at Masters level or equivalent clinical courses within area of clinical expertise.
Post qualification courses in Social Work practice
All statutory and mandatory training as relevant
Good keyboard / IT skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email and PowerPoint

Desirable

Masters qualification in relevant area that will support the delivery of the service.
Further study relevant to practice
Additional Social Work qualification - AMHP, BIA, Practice Educator
Coaching qualification
Evidence of Leadership Training

Experience
Essential

Significant experience in the Social Work field including assessment and management within casework
Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
Supporting service users, families and carers
Experience of negotiation and conflict management and in risk management principles
Working in a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

Evidence of project work
Experience of working in an multi-disciplinary team or environment
Significant experience of managing & implementing change
