We’re looking for advanced social workers, who can use their expertise, judgement and confidence to innovate and lead on improving and strengthening practice, procedure and policy.

If that’s you, and you can use your extensive knowledge and high standards of practice to be influential in improving outcomes for our children, young people and their families, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role:

One of the most exciting new developments in our social work career pathway in Jersey has been the creation of new Advanced Social Worker roles.
Working in a team of social workers with an experienced Practice Manager and Team Manager, the post will carry a caseload of complex and challenging cases, using their social work expertise and a clear child focus to secure the best possible outcomes for our most vulnerable children.
With this new opportunity, Advanced Social Workers working across Jersey Children’s Social Care, we aim to develop the quality of the service we provide. This role will deliver coaching, mentoring and support to Newly Qualified (NQSWs) and experienced Social Workers, providing guidance, support, and best practice.

We’re currently recruiting in Fostering, Family Safeguarding Services, Children in Care Team and Complex Needs Team.

Our new Government is investing in our reform programme over the next four years. Our plans for that investment include:

• Investing in our workforce
• Training and development
• Increasing the number and range of homes for our children
• Increasing investment in community and intensive support to children and families to support them to stay together
• Introducing new legislation to promote and support the wellbeing of children
• Creating time for direct work
• Improving options for care leavers
• Keeping caseloads low

If you want to be part of the journey in Jersey to put children and young people first and you’re resilient enough to live and work in an Island community, you could be one of our new Social Workers.

We are investing. We are growing. We are ambitious.

- 1 location, 1 service, 1 team
- £5000 recruitment payment + relocation support
- Substantial year on year investment into services and people
- 200 hours of professional development in 2022
