We are looking for a Children's Services Worker to join our team.

Bucks Activity is part of the Action for Children Countywide Integrated Short Breaks Service, commissioned by Buckinghamshire Council and provides community short breaks to children and young people aged 0-19 across Bucks, with disabilities and additional learning needs.

What you'll be doing
In the role of Childrens Services Worker you'll be providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care, working as part of a team to provide an enabling environment and to build strong parent partnerships to enable all children's needs to be met.
You'll do this by:

-Keeping records of children's development, individual protocols and progress.
-Ensuring the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories.
-Carrying out personal care and administering medication (Training provided)
-For our older children, assisting in the running of weekend sessions that involve participation in arts and crafts, cooking, team games, outdoor games and enhancing life skills.
-Supporting children and young people who have chosen to take part in local activities in the local community.
-Helping promote and measure outcomes of physical and social development alongside communication.
What we need from you
In the role of Children's Services Worker, we're ideally looking for someone who has:
-To hold a relevant qualification in youth work, children's services, or education, or be willing to study for and complete an apprenticeship, funded totally by us.
-Voluntary or paid experience working with children and young people.
-Ability to support children and young people to have fun and positive experiences.
-Knowledge of disabilities/additional needs (desirable).
-The ability to work safely with children.
-A positive attitude and desire to give the best care to children and young people.
-Good observational, communication and interpersonal skills.
-Willingness to travel to local services and group activities across Buckinghamshire, you must have access to your own vehicle.
-Ability to attend occasional training relevant to your role, when required.
