We are looking for a therapist with a dual qualification in Social Work and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or equivalent to join our multi-disciplinary team, to be primarily based in our Family Trauma assessment and treatment project. Though specialist experience in these areas is not essential, a strong interest and some relevant experience in working with family trauma and parental conflict is required.

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families supports distressed children and their families through innovative therapeutic practice and research, training and promoting awareness of mental health issues.

The Centre values diversity and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We encourage applications from all sections of the community.

The Family Trauma team is focused on improving the fundamental relationship between an infant, child, young person, and their primary carer where there has been an experience of neglect, maltreatment, conflict and/or trauma within the family. The Family Trauma team bring together several specialisms in working with family and developmental trauma. The team strives to be supportive of individual, cultural and socioeconomic differences and to value diversity and self-reflection.

The ideal candidate should hold a qualification in social work or have substantial experience of working in a social care setting and be trained in a range of therapeutic interventions applicable to working with families on the edge of care, in care proceedings, in local authority care or post-care (adoption or special guardianship). It is essential that applicants have also experience as a member of a social care team embedding the use of clinical ideas to meet the needs of the social care population.
Please email Recruitment@annafreud.org with any job enquiries, or if you require assistance or experience difficulties when applying. Please note all our posts require candidates to have the Right to Work in the UK at the time of applying and we do not hold a sponsorship licence.
