This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Consultant Social Worker to join the HPFT CAMHS Targeted Team and shape service delivery. HPFT is at the forefront of providing integrated health and social care. The Trust is one of only a handful of mental health trusts in the country to receive a CQC rating of 'OUTSTANDING'.

CAMHS Targeted Team is a welcoming, supportive multi-disciplinary team who are committed to providing innovative and high quality care. This is a county wide service based at Kingsley Green, Radlett providing a service to Looked after Children and Children and families on the edge of care. We provide consultation to the caring networks, including foster carers and parents as well as direct and systemic interventions. You will work alongside, clinical social workers an occupational therapist, nurses, systemic family therapists and CAMHS practitioners and with our partner agencies across Social Care and Education.

You will have HCPC registration. As a service we offer various models of evidence-based therapeutic intervention (for example Specialist provision of Trauma Focused CBT, DDP, EMDR). We work alongside CAMHS Community Teams, Eating Disorders Team, Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team, DBT team, Forensic Adolescent Practitioner service, Adolescent inpatient unit, Home Treatment Team.

Main duties of the job

You would be expected to offer consultation slots to the caring professionals around the child and offer formulation as well as provide specialist therapeutic interventions. We work closely with a range of colleagues in social care, schools and other partners.

Within the team we offer Trauma focused CBT, work informed by Dyadic developmental psychotherapy, Thera-play, Reflective network spaces and we use our knowledge of trauma and attachment to support those receiving the service whether this is direct or indirect work for the child/careers and or the network.

The team work within the context of CAPA and CYP-IAPT

This post is part of the senior leadership team and you will provide supervision to clinicians in the team. We hope the applicant would support us in shaping our service going forward.

Our service offers consultation to our colleagues within social care and education and when required our CAMHS colleagues across the county. We have regular opportunities for team away days and a regular meeting structure for peer support and clinical thinking.

As a consultant social worker you will support the team functioning as well as have a caseload to manage. Within the team you will support the team in facilitating reflective learning spaces.

The successful candidate will be supported to develop and build on existing skills and knowledge and will have access to a range of training opportunities to fit with both the needs of the service and personal interests

Working for our organisation

The post-holder will provide a variety of clinical/professional supervision to trainees on placement and multi-disciplinary colleagues for purposes of training and continuing professional development. We are looking for a CAMHS Practitioner to compliment the skills of the existing team.

The post holder will be supported to develop personally and professionally and there are opportunities for service development.

HPFT CAMHS service is leading in transforming care for young people and their families and now has a CAMHS Home Treatment Team, a CAMHS DBT Service, and has a dedicated CAMHS Section 136 Suite. We also host our own Tier 4 Inpatient Unit for young people, Forest House Adolescent Unit, which has worked to reduce inpatient admissions and improve community care for young people in crisis.
