We are looking for a part-time Consultant Social Worker in the South West Assessment Team to lead on specific areas to support the team including and act as the lead for Non-Agency Assessments, this will include managing a pool of Independent Social Workers (ISW's).
• Stepping in to undertake visits at short notice when social workers are unavailable across the region
• Ensure that assessments, triage and reports are concluded in a timely manner
• Supporting colleagues by Quality Assuring Non-Agency Assessments, or other reports for adoption panel to ensure that they are of a good standard and meet timescale deadlines
• Being a lead on; and attending Court on behalf of Adopt London South
• Provide information, advice and guidance to colleagues within the team and to partners across the service in line with our service standards

Reducing race disparity in adoption is a key objective for everyone in ALS, ensuring we have the right adopters. An interest in Non agency Adoption and what this entails.
There will be opportunities to develop your group work and training skills in preparing adopters/relatives to meet the therapeutic needs of children affected by early traumatic events and the experience of loss.
This vacancy is in South West Assessment and Pre-order Support team. Agile working is established in ALS, with home visits usually from home. The role is home based, but may involve some travelling to meetings or requested attendance at venues across the region.

As the Regional Adoption Agency we work closely with Adopt London partners and also with national projects to improve adoption. We have a strong partnership with We are Family support community and others across the sector.
Our aim is to build best practice across South London by providing a range of adoption services children, adoptive families, relatives, birth parents and adopted adults. We are looking for people to join us in building the service to improve outcomes in adoption.
Additional details
This is a part time post, working Monday to Friday (standard 18 hours a week spread over the week).
