We are looking for an experienced clinician with management and leadership experience to join our leadership group in the Family Trauma Department. The role will involve both contributing to and supporting the clinical and project work in the multi-disciplinary team. Specialist experience and knowledge in the field of child and family developmental trauma is essential, together with a strong clinical and strategic interest in developing the innovative work in a multidisciplinary team.
A qualification in a clinical training is essential and an additional training in social work would be preferable (but not essential). The Deputy Head of Family Trauma will lead on two projects within the department: one for children and young people post adoption (including work with special guardians) and one for assessments (including for court) and interventions for children and young people in care or on the edge of care. Experience in the field of fostering, adoptive and edge of care work would be highly desirable. In addition, the post-holder will provide consultation and/or supervision to complex systems, individual professionals and groups, to assist in the management of referrals, allocations and treatment planning and in the development and delivery of training.
The Family Trauma Department is focused on improving the fundamental relationship between an infant, child, young person, and their primary carer where there has been an experience of neglect, maltreatment and/or trauma within the family. We bring together several specialisms in working with family and developmental trauma, and work with whole family systems and professional networks around children. The team strives to be supportive of individual, cultural and socioeconomic differences and to value diversity and self-reflection.
