We are looking for a Family Therapist or Clinical Psychologist with a qualification in Social Work or considerable experience of working with social care colleagues and networks to join our multi-disciplinary team.

The Family Trauma team is focused on improving the fundamental relationship between an infant, child, young person, and their primary carer where there has been an experience of neglect, maltreatment, conflict and/or trauma within the family. The Family Trauma team bring together several specialisms in working with family and developmental trauma. The team strives to be supportive of individual, cultural and socioeconomic differences and to value diversity and self-reflection.

The successful candidate will become part of an established, supportive multi-disciplinary clinical team. They will be co-working with experienced colleagues, will be provided with group, peer and individual supervision and will have access to in-house training to support their practice.

This post will be primarily based in our Family Trauma assessment and treatment project and will also include work in a second project which could be with families Post-Adoption and Special Guardianship, Families in Conflict, Reflective Fostering/Parenting or Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (though experience in all of these areas is not essential, a strong interest and some relevant experience in working with family trauma is required).

It is essential that the applicant has experience of embedding the use of clinical ideas to meet the needs of the social care population. As well as substantial experience of working with social care, the applicant’s training should equip them to work therapeutically with families on the edge of care, in care proceedings, in local authority care or post-care (adoption or special guardianship).

Please email with any job enquiries, or if you require assistance or experience difficulties when applying. Please note all our posts require candidates to have the Right to Work in the UK at the time of applying and we do not hold a sponsorship licence.
