An exciting opportunity to take a lead role in developing and leading a programme for families within The Salvation Army in Braintree. To discover and form relationships within the community, to build up a knowledge of the need’s families are facing in the local area. The role will involve the teaching and development of the Christian faith to families and living out the gospel of Jesus in meeting the needs of the poor. The role will therefore both cover the spiritual and social aspects that are key to the mission of The Salvation Army.
You will be innovative and proactive in new ideas, to work on developing an understanding of the spirituality of the local area and culture and how the Church maybe appropriate to its surrounding area.
You will have a passion and love for families and wish to see people come into a knowledge of the love of Christ. A desire to see a difference in the community where new programmes can assist families in having a better life. A desire to promote a life of love and kindness and see a community come together in unity. Experience of developing, organising & leading community activities for a range of different programme participants that include reference to Christian faith in creative and relevant ways.
There is an Occupational Requirement that the successful applicant will be a committed and practising Christian since this is central to the duties of the post.
