A number of exciting new opportunities have arisen aligned to the Personality Disorder Managed Clinical Network (PDMCN) but managed within locality Community Mental Health Teams for Permanent Band 6 posts.
This is an exciting development post, as the post holders will have the opportunity to receive training in Nice Guidelines approved therapies for this client group. For example, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
These roles will be located across the Lancashire & South Cumbria Footprint particularly in the following localities:
Permanent positions available Blackpool, Preston and Barrow. Barrow post comes with a £7k welcome bonus.
*Available to both existing NHS staff (not currently employed by the Trust) and people who are joining the NHS for the first time.

Main duties of the job
These new posts will be working directly within the Trust’s Community Mental Health Team’s (CMHT) and clinically supported by the Personality Disorder Managed Clinical Network (PDMCN) comprising of a HUB and SPOKE model of which these post form the essential SPOKEs within localities. The successful candidates will work with service users predominantly who have a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) who are currently on CMHT caseloads. You will deliver Structure Clinical Management (SCM) to a caseload of service users within the community setting in your locality.
Supervision is an integral part of this job and you will be supported with regular access to supervision on a consistent basis. Clinical supervision will be provided by the PDMCN Specialist Practitioners within the PDMCN HUB including senior Clinical Leads.
It is desirable to have some knowledge of SCM and also an interest in working with people with personality disorder.

SCM is recognised as the gold standard of care for people with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). It is evidenced based and recommended in NICE guidelines. SCM has been selected by the trust as the approach to implement within the personality disorder pathway. As part of the Long Term Plan and the transformation of care for services users with serious mental illness, widening access to an evidence base model of care is a national priority. This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop specific skills in line with evidence based treatment and be involved in providing support for service user’s to recover, develop autonomy and no longer require secondary mental health services. Your input will enable service users to reach optimum recovery and reduce the need for emergency services and hospital admission.
As well as direct face to face contact with the service user, and group work, it is expected that the post holder will be able to engage with the wider community system (A&E, police, inpatient and community settings) and support them to deliver evidence based practice. It is expected that you will be able travel across Lancashire to meet the needs of the service, however you will be aligned to a CMHT within localities.
