Principal Social Worker

We are looking for a Principal Social Worker to join our team.

The post holder will be responsible to the Divisional Social Worker within Children Community services for the provision of strong professional leadership to the social work and social care workforce. The post holder will work closely with Children’s Community Services, to provide expert knowledge and a strong governance perspective to the tasks of modernisation, quality improvement and performance monitoring.

Ensuring that services are of a high quality and fully meet exacting professional regulation and governance standards. A key aspect of this post will be ensuring that Social Work and Social Care Services are provided in a framework that promotes human rights and social inclusion.

He/she will take a lead role in assuring compliance with the delegation of statutory functions and the development of an expertise in statutory functions across the service area. The post holder will provide direct professional supervision to a small number of staff across Children’s Community Services. He/she will work with the Community Social Work PSW’s to ensure compliance with CPD and SDR requirements. The Principal Social Worker will have a key role in the coordination of training, in conjunction with the Trust’s Training and Development Team, as well as developing appropriate reflective practice fora.
The post holder will work closely with the Principal Social Worker for Children’s Community Services to provide leadership on key professional and strategic developments. The Principal Social Worker will deputise for the Divisional Social Worker as required.
