We are looking for a Senior Volunteer Coordinator to join our team.
A bit about the role
Working for our Ballymena and Little Steps Sure Start service, you'll co-ordinate the safer recruitment, induction, training and supervision of volunteers.
By consulting with children, young people and families, you'll be able to develop meaningful volunteer roles. You'll ensure they are well equipped to carry out their roles competently and confidently through the delivery of Volunteering led programmes that lead to positive and agreed outcomes for children in line with the organisational Business Plan aims objectives and contract requirements.
You'll be confident offering advice and information to potential volunteers and external organisations though face-to-face, telephone and email contact.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
- Recruiting inspiring volunteers who can support children being heard and act as positive role models to children in care.
- Coordinating ongoing support and training for volunteers.
- Supervising volunteers providing front-line delivery of services.
- Demonstrating the benefits of the service to social work teams and commissioners and facilitating ongoing referrals.
- Publicising and promoting volunteering opportunities with individuals, community groups, professionals and other relevant agencies.
- Offering advice and information to potential volunteers and external organisations through face-to-face, telephone and email contact.
Let's talk about you
- Minimum level 3 standards for example: BTech, NVQ L3, A Level in health and social care, or early years.
- The ability to liaise with wide range of individuals (Social Workers, Young People, Commissioners)
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- A positive and proactive approach.
- Good IT skills.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding.
- Previous experience of working with, and training volunteers, is desirable.
- Access to a car. The role requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the role, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
