This post will play a vital role in enhancing the team's understanding of the social model in precipitating mental health crises, and promoting creative, alternative responses to crisis and support in crisis. The integrated model will improve recognition of shared professional values with an emphasis on skills development, shared delivery of care and greater multi-agency working.

The post will work in a restorative, recovery-focused way to support children and young people experiencing crises and challenges around their mental health. The role will build relationships with young people and their families to get to the core of the causal/exacerbating factors in a crisis, making this a key part of the assessment process. The provision of direct social work interventions will support children and young people to achieve better outcomes. The post holder will be required to take a leadership role in relation to delivery of social work and social care interventions.

Main duties of the job
The post will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, undertaking assessments, support planning and direct work with children and young people and their families. They will also be a source of and lead on the social model and provide legal expertise and guidance as an experienced social worker and AMHP.

As a qualified AMHP the post holder will maintain a strong link with the Hull AMHP Service and will be required to contribute to the Hull AMHP rota.

As an AMHP and Advanced Social Work Practitioner; to liaise with key partner agencies to develop and maintain multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working. To provide a high-quality comprehensive S13. considerations for people coming into contact with the service, involving as appropriate the views and input from Nearest Relatives, Carers, Service Providers and Partner Agencies (HTFT and External).

As an AMHP and Advanced Social Work Practitioner to work closely with the Mental Health Services and the Local Authorities involved with child/young person in relation to both CAMHS involvement and requests made under Section 13 of the Mental Health Act.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria

A Post graduate professional qualification relevant to the professional service specialism (such as CQSW/CSS/DipSW or BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent and PQSW); plus, significant and broad experience demonstrating applied application of the above levels of knowledge in a relevant setting.
Extensive knowledge of the AMHP role and knowledge of the Mental Health Act, related guidance and case law
Desirable criteria

Practice Educator qualification (ideally Level 2 qualified)
Experience
Essential criteria

Significant post qualification experience in dealing with significant and diverse issues.
Significant experience in frontline mental health services including assessment, care planning and managing a complex caseload of diverse needs including risk/safeguarding issues
Skills & Competencies
Essential criteria

Able to work independently but also as an effective Partnership team member
Able to provide a clear sense of direction and take ownership of planned objectives, delegating effectively when required

Where operationally feasible the Trust supports agile working, there is an expectation of attendance of 1 day per week at a Trust site as a minimum operationally. Unless specifically stated in the advert that a role will have home as the base of work, all roles will have the option to work from a Trust base if remote working is not for you.

If required for the post the ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport would be essential.
