This role attracts a Golden Hello of £3,500, new employees only.

£1,500 on commencement and £2,000 on completion of one years’ employment.

Main duties of the job

This role will lead the social work function of the team by:

- ensuring excellent safeguarding practice
- supporting the team in accessing social care packages including supported accommodation provision
- ensuring high quality carers' assessments
- conducting Connected Lives assessments

The successful candidate will:

- be a social worker with mental health knowledge and experience
- work together with our established multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent care and interventions for adults with moderate to severe eating disorders and their families
- work alongside psychiatrists, dietitians, support workers, nurses, psychologists/psychotherapists, administrators
- have opportunities to learn and to develop

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To lead on the social work function for the community team working with adults with a moderate to severe eating disorder. This will include:

- supporting the whole team with social care and Connected Lives assessments
- supporting the systemic therapist and carers liaison worker with carers' assessments
- liaising with the placements team to source appropriate accommodation for those who need supported accommodation
- supporting the team with safeguarding practice, referrals and investigations and leading these where necessary
ensuring the social care needs of our service users are identified and addressed

Person specification
AREAS OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria

- Some post qualification experience
- Knowledge of English legislation, theory and policy in relation to adult eating disorders.
- Experience of undertaking assessments, focussed as personalisation, choice and control, and care planning
- Understanding and experience of personal budgets and direct payments
- Experience of multidisciplinary working and ability to work collaboratively
- Experience of partnership working with service users and carers, demonstrating dignity and respect
- Experience of working within mental health services

Desirable criteria

- Experience of working within an eating disorders service
