We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to cover maternity leave, starting in January 2023, working 24 hours per week.
Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We are currently defining our approach to hybrid working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at interview stage with you.
This role falls under the hybrid - variable category. This role is part home, part site based (your contractual base will be both Home and Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham). You will have the opportunity to work remotely / from home within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements.
The office-based working will be at Nottingham Children’s Hospital at Queen’s Medical Centre, to provide support to children and young people (0-24 years with a focus on under 18’s) diagnosed with cancer and leukaemia and their families.
ABOUT YOU
Our work is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient. You will work closely with our supportive Young Lives vs Cancer team, an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and with services in the community.
As well as current Social Care England registration you will have:
Experience of working with children, young people and their families/carers in a social care setting.
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Knowledge of child and young people development.
An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and families.
All applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills.
