Launch Your Social Work Career: Being a NQSW in Cafcass

This session will help you understand a day in the life of NQSWs that are just starting the ASYE journey through to completing the 3 yr NQSW programme. You will hear from NQSWs, the Cafcass SW Academy and managers talking through their experiences and highlights of the NQSW programme.

The session will be led by Steven Anderson and Jenny Lee - both are Assistant Managers in the Academy - and Debbie Blackshaw, who is the Academy lead. All have been Local Authority Social workers and practitioners in Cafcass and have over 70 years of combined children and family social work experience. Whilst the Academy is only 2 years old Steven, Jenny and Debbie have had substantial Practice Learning, and learning and development experience with recently qualified and experienced social work practitioners.
