What is the job role?

Would you like to join an outstanding authority and be part of a great service?

We have one permanent position and one 12-month fixed-term contract.

As an advanced Social Worker, you will work as part of a team (under 12's), but also be responsible for your own case load and work with autonomy. The role includes supporting team members through mentoring, coaching and advancing the expertise and professional competence and confidence of others. You will progress children's care plans from the first court hearing through to final orders. You will be aspirational in achieving good outcomes and advocating for our children.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and as such, appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

You will join a supportive and dedicated children in care team who work with families from the first court hearing and progress their journey all the way through to the child's final care plan and beyond, working with children from birth to aged 12 years.

Experience in court work, reunification, care planning, children in need and adoption is required. You will also share your skills and knowledge, passion, and develop newly qualified staff within the service.
