We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic casual Children Services Workers to join our established and dedicated team at Islington Children's Centre. If this sounds of interest, please read on for more information!
The role
Action for Children Islington support disabled young people in their own homes or in their local community. Our community-based services do just that. They support children to make and meet friends, connect with their communities and enjoy new opportunities and experiences.
We encourage children to be ambitious about what they want to do and work with them to make their wishes a reality. The approach is about being inclusive, flexible and, above all, fun.
As a Childrens Services Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to children, young people and families by agreeing and directly delivering interventions, with appropriate direction, which enable positive and agreed outcomes to be achieved, in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
You will make a difference by:
-Providing direct family support in the early help service, through a blend of digital or face to face contact.
-Supporting families within the early help model and managing a case load, where you will be required to record effectively, deliver an intervention, and refer onto other services as required.
-Contributing to and attending Team around the family meetings.
-Support children and their families in different environments and required to be confident in representing the Action for Children Service.
-Supporting children and their families to Thrive with delivering different techniques and methods.
-Tracking children's learning and development and required to communicate with their parents and carers.
You will need:
-A NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
-Experience of working in a health, early years or social care setting.
-Experience of working as part of a team or as an individual to deliver a frontline service.
-Confidence to deliver child led and informed interventions
-Experience with child development and planning for individual child's needs.
-Experience of working with children and families.
-Good understanding of safeguarding.
-Ability to communicate effectively with children and their parents/carers.
-Passion and motivation to support children and families to grow, effectively communicate and develop together.
