We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to join our team dedicated supporting families to give children the best beginning to their brighter future.

Baby Steps' is an educational programme designed to support expectant parents through the emotional and physical transition of starting a family. Our service provides support for pregnant women throughout the antenatal and postnatal periods.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

Taking the lead in ensuring our programmes are delivered effectively to achieve the best possible outcomes mothers, fathers and their babies, you will be fully supported in this role and have opportunity to develop your skills. You will be:

- Ensuring that pregnant women and their partners receive the most up to date information on preparing for the birth of a baby and the birth experience.
- Developing positive, trusting and responsive relationships with parents.
- Working with parents from all backgrounds, some who may struggle with the transition into parenthood and may need support with emotional wellbeing.
- Continue to achieve and maintain our quality service and accessibility to it.
- Collaborate with a external services to promote and publicise Baby Steps.

Let's talk about you

You will provide innovative, responsive, high quality and person-centred services. Our full job description is attached but we're ideally looking for someone who has:

- A level 3 Diploma Award in Childcare/ Early years / Family support or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in managing Safeguarding concerns, and comfortable as a lead in Safeguarding.
- Experience of working with both mothers and fathers during pregnancy and/or the early years.
- Experience engaging with parents who would not usually engage with services.
- Ability to communicate effectively and engagingly.
