Job summary

We are looking for an Interim Social Work and Family Support Lead to manage the social work service for families (children, young people and adults) under the care of Chestnut Tree House, including holding a small complex caseload and providing advice and guidance to the wider staff team.

Job responsibilities

To support the Head of Clinical Services in the implementation of the strategies, policies and procedures of the Team

To lead, support, monitor and appraise members of the Child and Family Support Team.

To represent the social work perspective within the team and in wider internal and external discussions

To support the work of the hospices safeguarding leads in the provision of a safe and effective service, including developing a specialist area of practice.

To support a review of the current service offer and team structure within the organisation.

To provide a safe and effective social work service to hospice clients

Person Specification

Qualifications
Essential

Social work qualification and registered with Social Work England.

Experience
Essential

Experience of working in a health care setting and/or of working with people with disabilities and/or as a care manager.
Experience of representing the organisation at strategic and operational meetings
At least 2 years line management experience
Experience of multi-professional working.
Experience of complex decision making
Experience of guiding others on safeguarding matters, including risk management and safety planning
Experience of delivering training
