What is the job role?

Coventry City Council is looking for an Operational Lead to support the development and delivery of high-quality regulated provision, including children’s homes as part of our wider sufficiency duty for children in care. The role requires registering with Ofsted to become the Responsible Individual, providing leadership, oversight and support to ensure our homes are safe, well-led and focused on achieving the best outcomes for children. You will drive service improvement, workforce development and work with partners to strengthen local provision, ensuring children's needs are met and that their home is where they feel safe, valued and cared for.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a confident leader with experience in children’s residential care, a strong understanding of regulation and inspection, and the ability to support Registered Managers to deliver safe, nurturing and child-centred care. You will be passionate about improving children’s lives and committed to Coventry’s values and have the skills, knowledge and leadership qualities to meet the regulatory requirements of a Responsible Individual and to work within Coventry's Children's & Education Services.
