We are looking for an experienced and skilled practitioner to come and join our Children’s Support and Safeguarding Teams as a Principal Manager.
You will be managing a small team of social workers providing a locality based service to children and their families in Stoke on Trent where there are safeguarding concerns and need for support and intervention at the level of child in need plan or child protection plan.
You will be working with parents and wider family under the pre-proceedings procedures with the aim of building strength and safety within children’s own family networks so that children can live safely within their birth family, and if this is not possible permanency plans can be progressed in a timely way.
You will value creativity and problem solving, developing a culture of learning and development.You will be passionate about working collaboratively with children and their families, strengths based practice, working with diversity and placing the child’s voice at the heart of decision making.
You will be responsible for direct line management of social workers and social work assistants, providing reflective supervision. You will be restorative in your approach to your team, partner agencies and most importantly the children and families we work with.
You will be part of a permanent team manager group and will be supervised by a permanent and experienced Head of Service. You will have access to our extensive learning and development offer to help you develop in your role.
