What is the job role?

We are excited to be recruiting to our Reunification Children and Families Worker role within our Children in Care Service.

The post holder will be responsible for contributing to and working with parents where we are undertaking a reunification assessment or considering undertaking a reunification assessment. This will involve direct parenting work and assessment. This post will also include direct work with children, including wishes and feelings work and life story work.

This role will require the post holder to have conversations about parenting capacity, safety, their child’s needs and to discuss factors such as drug and alcohol use, experiences of domestic abuse and many other sensitive issues. The post holder will be required to present with compassion, empathy and understanding.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

You will need to have a positive attitude and the ability to work in a solution focussed way with families. You will be a good team player who is passionate about identifying appropriate interventions for children and families.
