We are looking for a Team Manager to join our London team supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer. This will include management of social care staff and volunteers who will deliver services in line with the organisation’s service specifications.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

The Role
We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality support tailored to the needs of the children and young people and their families. The work we do is rewarding but also complex and demanding. You will be part of a close-knit Young Lives vs Cancer social work team, working with an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and services in the community
This role is part home, part site-based (your contractual base will be both Home and Hospital) within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements

About You
If you have a recognised Professional Social Work qualification and are registered with Social Work England/ Scottish Social Services Council/Social Care Wales/Northern Ireland Social Care Council, please read on.
In delivering the role, you will have knowledge of relevant legislation, National policy and guidance in health and social care and social work practice standards.
You will have experience of managing social care teams, students and/or volunteers for children and / or young people and their families. In addition, you will have experience of safeguarding children and vulnerable adult procedures and legislation and of managing social care practice standards and compliance, safeguarding and complex casework.
You will have a positive attitude and be willing to embrace difference. As part of the wider Young Lives vs Cancer team you will actively engage with the work of the charity and welcome opportunities to get involved.
