St Richards Hospice has an opening within our Family Support Team for a caring, committed and compassionate professional to join us as Specialist Palliative Care Social Worker. The successful candidate will provide emotional, social and practical support for patients and families (including children) supported by St Richards Hospice and Bereavement Support South Worcestershire.
St Richards Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care for over 3,000 adults, family members and the bereaved throughout South Worcestershire each year. We are committed to the delivery of the highest standards of care, enabling our patients to take control of their lives as their condition changes.
We are housed in state-of-the-art purpose-built premises with outstanding facilities to enable us to support patients and families to live well from diagnosis to end of life. Worcestershire is a stunning place to live with outstanding countryside, whilst being blessed with excellent transport links, and St Richards is located very close to the M5 and the new Worcester Parkway railway station.
Main duties of the job
This is a varied role where the post holder will manage patient and carer/ family access to all services at St. Richards, carry a small community case load and cover the In-Patient Unit when required.
The successful applicant will have current registration with Social Work England and experience of assessing and managing referrals as well as good active listening and communication skills.
Due to the nature of this role a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
