Hours: 37.5 hours

Kent and Medway provide a wide range of adult mental health and learning disability services to the local population of 1.8 million people in Kent and Medway, as well as specialist services for adults in Sussex and Surrey.

Each year they care for over 2,000 people in hospitals and 54,000 people in the community.

They are part of the Kent and Medway Integrated Care System, a partnership of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up health and care services to improve the lives of people across Kent and Medway.

Job Purpose:

This role demands a clear focus on professional clinical leadership and coordination of team members, including taking part in recruitment, supervision, and appraisal of staff. To work closely with staff groups to ensure staff are clinically supervised as well as managerially and ensure there is a focus on reflection and best practice.

Main duties of the job
To plan individual care plans under the Care Programme Approach for Service Users and to initiate to organise case conferences and Care Programme Approach reviews as clinically indicated.

To plan the implementation of policies and service developments within the team which reflect modern evidence-based practise..

Job description
Job responsibilities
To assist in the planning and delivery and evaluation of effective services within the locality which meet the needs of the service users and the expectations of commissioners and CCG.

To deputise for Locality Services Manager as required during periods of leave.

To provide routine clinical leadership, caseload management and support on a day to-day basis for team members or junior colleagues, whilst ensuring access to appropriate professional managers over matters of professional expertise

To be able to effectively plan own clinical and managerial workload.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Desirable
Registered Mental Health Nurse, registered Social Worker or registered Occupational Therapist (holding diploma or degree qualification).
Management/Clinical Leadership qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
Desirable
Extensive experience of working as a Band 6 within a Community Mental Health Services.
Experience of managing a complex case load within a community setting for people with Mental Health Needs
Experience of working in Community Mental Health Services for Older People
