What is the job role?

The role of the Supporting Families Team Leader is to lead and manage a team of Supporting Families Practitioners who deliver intensive family support to children and families with a focus on improving outcomes and helping children thrive and where possible to prevent escalation to statutory services.

The role will require the postholder to work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders building on existing partnerships and developing service delivery arrangements.

As a Supporting Families Team Leader you will be responsible for the reflective case supervision of the team and provide robust management oversight across all aspects of case work including assessments, plans and interventions.

The post holder will be required to embed practice standards and ensure the quality of work with children and families is high and within the inspection standards under OFSTED and any other Government Guidance.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a creative and dedicated manager with experience of leading in a family support environment and knowledge of safeguarding practices and processes. You will need good ICT skills and a strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

The postholder much have a professional qualification in teaching, early years, nursing, youth or social care.
