We’re excited to be recruiting in the East Midlands for people who are passionate about working with and helping young people improve their lives. There are two Youth Development Lead roles - one which will involve travel across all of the East Midlands with particular focus on Derby and Nottingham and one across the Northamptonshire area, including Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough.
It's a unique time at the moment but our commitment to our young people is as strong as it’s ever been. We want to keep providing support to young people face to face, however, we’ve developed new ways of working to enable all young people access to our services including a blended approach to virtual and face to face programme delivery.
This role involves working on our Health and Social Care programmes, could you support young people to reach our aim of getting 10,000 young people into Health and Social Care careers?
As a Prince’s Trust Youth Development Lead, you’ll engage and build quality relationships with young people, volunteers and partners, and as an effective communicator and collaborator, you will thrive in both team and independent work. If you believe you have the passion and skills to help young people change their lives then we would love to hear from you!
Our Prince’s Trust Youth Development Lead’s work with young people from every background, so we’re passionate about building a diverse workforce that represents the young people we support. We therefore welcome applications from everyone who meets the essential criteria for the role, if you’re not sure if you do, please feel free to apply as you’ll have the chance to fill in a supporting statement and let us know what you would bring to the table and if you have lived experience that will help our young people.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to engage in challenges with optimism and resilience and be adaptive and flexible – embracing change and innovation. As well as being confident delivering with groups face to face you must also be comfortable working virtually and delivering programmes on virtual platforms.
Our Youth Development Leads provide 1:1 and group support for young people so you will need to have experience in facilitating skills development in at least one of the following:
• Social and personal development
• Employability/self-employment training
• Partnerships management
• Health and Social Care
Why we need a Youth Development Lead:
Last year, we helped more than 70,000 young people, with three in four young people on our programmes, move into work, education or training.
The young people we help face a range of challenges, such as unemployment, mental health issues or some have been in trouble with the law. Our job is to inspire and support young people, to help them reach their potential so that they can thrive and society can prosper.
We believe all young people should have the chance to succeed, and that young people are the key to a positive and prosperous future for all of us.
