Paul Burstow
COVID-19 and the Care Act 2014
About this event
This event has now expired
The Care Act 2014 has been the most significant piece of legislation in our sector since the establishment of the welfare state. We saw a shift from the duty to provide services to meeting needs.
Of course, everyone has individual needs so local authorities won’t be able to comply with the Act by providing one-size-fits-all services, but by putting the person at the centre of their offer.
Hear from Paul Burstow, Chair of the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), Clenton Farquharson MBE, Chair of Think Local Act Personal (TLAP), and CEO of Shared Lives Plus, Alex Fox, as they answer questions about COVID-19 and the Care Act 2014.
This recording has plenty of comments and questions with answers about the Care Act and the coronavirus situation.
