Creativity and Curiosity: An ASYE community within a reflective space

About this event

Join the live Q&A here

This webinar explores how the Social Work Academy at Gloucestershire County Council works to be innovative whilst improving its practice-based exercises to build a community within the ASYE partnership.

In this wide-ranging discussion, team members Rob Tyrell (Principal Social Worker), Leanne Taylor (NASS and Curriculum Lead) and Rob Kinahan (ASYE Consultant Social Worker) explore how Gloucestershire County Council has created multiple ways for the service to provide excellent training, assessments, programmes and progression for those within the Academy.

The team discuss the shift towards a professional development ‘village’ – a community focused on relational practice that promotes creativity and curiosity both within the ASYE programme and beyond.

Throughout this informal conversation, the group looks at how the transition to a community-based academy has been achieved and maintained through the integration of relational practice between social workers within a reflective space, the positive role of the National Accreditation and Assessment System (NAAS), the involvement of children with lived-experienced, and wider systemic changes within an improving authority.
