Developing critically reflective practice

About this event

This event has now expired

Unfortunately, the emphasis in higher education and professional practice has caused confusion in many quarters where it has come to be closely linked with a narrow focus on keeping a reflective log or diary. This webinar explains that there is much more to reflective practice than logs or diaries, although they can have their part to play. It also argues the case for a critical, questioning approach to reflective practice and highlights the dangers associated with non-reflective approaches to practice, including management practice.

Neil Thompson and Sue Thompson are the authors of the best-selling book The Critically Reflective Practitioner (3rd edn, Bloomsbury, 2023).

The remaining monthly webinars in the 'Reflect, Learn, Thrive: Monthly pathways to professional excellence' series will cover the following topics:

Developing Anti-discriminatory Practice
Developing an Effective Team
Boosting Your Career
Managing Conflict
