Interview for Torbay Council Children's Services' Safeguarding and Reviewing Officer (IRO) Role

About this event

Join the live Q&A here

Join Torbay Children's Services as a safeguarding and reviewing officer and you'll be part of an energised team taking a restorative and strengths based approach to serving the best interests of our children and young people.

Child abuse, exploitation and neglect don’t just damage young lives, they destroy promising futures before they even get a chance to be lived. If you are an experienced social worker who has a passion for ensuring that the views and wishes of children and young people are reflected in their plans and processes have a positive and timely impact on their lived experiences then we would like to hear from you.

You would join our Safeguarding and Reviewing Service as an Independent Reviewing Officer. In Torbay that means that you would be chairing both Child Protection Conferences and Children Looked After Reviews ensuring that the child’s lived experience is fully understood. We believe that an IRO has a pivotal role to play in improving practice.

You would benefit from new technology that will allow you to work flexibly and on the move which we believe is essential for an IRO to be able to keep track of developments and their children’s progress.
