Professor Lynette Joubert, Professor of Social Work, and Alys-Marie Manguy, PhD candidate, University of Melbourne, on models of family support in paediatric emergency departments.

This episode is launched to coincide with the start of the 5th International Conference on Practice Research hosted by the University of Melbourne, Australia.

It features a conversation with the chair of the conference, Professor Lynette Joubert, and Alys-Marie Manguy, a clinical social worker.

Professor Lynette Joubert is a Professor of Social Work at the University of Melbourne who predominantly works in the field of Health Social Work. She is an international leader in practice research and has published over 100 scholarly works.

Alys-Marie Manguy is a clinical social worker and researcher who has been working with children and families in acute health and community settings for the past 14 years. Based in Melbourne, Australia, she is currently completing a PhD examining acute psychosocial care models for families in paediatric emergencies.

In this episode we discuss a scoping review of psychosocial care models for families of critically ill children in paediatric emergency department settings which Alys conducted as part of her PhD research. The full text of the paper we discuss can be downloaded here:
