Mental Capacity Law and Policy

The long and winding road to the great confinement: In conversation with Lucy Series

About this event

This event has now expired

Watch this webinar from Mental Health Law Writer and Barrister Alex Ruck Keene, as he talks with academic Dr Lucy Series about the long and complex history of confinement.

In particular, Alex asks Dr Lucy Series about her Wellcome funded research, and discuss why Cheshire West may be a case of 'be careful what you wish for.'

Dr Lucy Series is a lecturer in law and Wellcome Trust Society and Ethics Research Fellow at the School of Law and Politics, at the University of Cardiff. She is specifically interested in how the law shapes and structures caregiving relationships with adults with mental disabilities.
