The Virtual Memory Box - improving life story work

About this event

Join the live Q&A here

South Tyneside Council and Nebula Labs show how the Virtual Memory Box is having an impact on life story work with young people in care.

After South Tyneside Council identified a need to improve how children and young people can retain memories and life stories, Nebula Labs worked with young people and carers to develop the Virtual Memory Box.

We are holding this free online workshop during Foster Care Fortnight to share the digital solution that is having a positive impact on Life Story Work.

If you work in social care or are a foster carer, you can find out about the practicalities of using this platform and ask us any questions you may have.

South Tyneside Council will discuss how they are using the solution, how it is supporting Life Story Work and becoming an important tool for social workers and carers.

Software house Nebula Labs will discuss how the Virtual Memory Box works, how it was developed and how other local authorities can easily and quickly start using it.

There is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the Virtual Memory Box.

Sandra Garner, a specialist in life story work and advisor to UK Fostering says: ‘A child’s lack of knowledge and understanding of their life journey and history can lead to emotional and social difficulties. Ultimately, it can impact on a child’s ability to fully enjoy their present life and future potential.’

Join us and find out more about how you can benefit from the Virtual Memory Box too.
