New CEO appointed for child exploitation charity, Pace
Pace (Parents Against Child Exploitation) has confirmed that Lindsay Dalton is to become Chief Executive Officer from 1 October.
27/09/21

Lindsay brings to her new role a wealth of experience supporting affected families and innovating how professionals support exploited children. In her previous role as Head of Training at Pace, Lindsay used her expertise to develop the UK’s first professional qualification in Child Sexual Exploitation, enabling professionals to learn the necessary skills to support families affected by the complex form of abuse.
“It is a privilege to lead a charity as exceptional and inspirational as Pace and an honour to continue working with our amazing team of staff, volunteers and parents,” Dalton said speaking about her new role. “
Pace is a national charity that supports families affected by child exploitation and protects and safeguards children from exploitation by empowering and supporting their parents, disrupting the offenders and working closely with the police and children’s social care services.
Lindsay started her career in the National Probation Service, before developing the charity’s partnerships with multi-agency teams working with families affected by exploitation. A strong advocate for family-centered practice, Lindsay has always championed her belief that the key to keeping children safe from exploitation is to closely support and advocate for their parents. Lindsay has developed a pioneering safeguarding model encapsulating this family-centred approach to keeping children safe from exploitation which is used by multi-agency teams across the UK.
Ian Critchley, Deputy Chief Constable QPM, Merseyside Police congratulated Dalton on the new role.
“I have worked for many years with Pace and witnessed first-hand the invaluable support Lindsay has provided to victims and parents of exploitation. I now look forward to continuing to work with Lindsay, in developing our joined up approach to helping families through the most appalling crimes of abuse and help address the lifelong consequences caused.”
Stuart Piper, Safeguarding Advisor for the Policing and Crime Team in West Yorkshire, said the promotion was unsurprising given Dalton’s previous work.
“[Lindsay] embodies everything this fantastic charity does. Her commitment, passion, knowledge, and willingness to support partners has made a real difference.
“I am grateful for the support and guidance she has given me and how she has shone a light on the central role parents and carers have in safeguarding their children. She will no doubt continue to take Pace from strength to strength and more children will be safer as a result.”
